Our mission is to connect urban dwellers with the wild spaces on their doorsteps. We work with the conservation, heritage, health and education sectors to achieve on this mission, focussing our efforts in the most deprived areas of Reading.
Working closely with our partners Catalyst Housing, we’re helping Reading move towards improved individual health and wellbeing, stronger communities, increased environmental awareness, and the enhancement of urban green spaces for people and wildlife.
We take an open, community-led approach and our award-winning team delivers a range of consultancy programmes for:
- Land managers
- Housing associations
- Housing developers
- Local Authorities (in particular Public Health, Park and Open Spaces, Education, Museums and Libraries and Play Development)
Nature for health and wellbeing
Nature Nurture supports urban nature connections as Nature Delivery Partners with Intelligent Health across the UK. Together we build on existing capacity, harnessing the power of all the amazing local nature and heritage sites - and forge partnerships with the the conservation sector towards measurable health and wellbeing outcomes.
Unleashing urban wild spaces
We work with Catalyst Housing to foster community cohesion in housing areas across Reading. Drawing on our rich expertise we map urban nature spaces and create nature connection experiences for everyone, even if it means helping parents and kids discover and delight in a tiny green patch on their doorstep.
Bringing urban wild spaces to life
In collaboration with The Conservation Volunteers, we are boosting community engagement, outdoor learning and conservation volunteering, empowering local urbanites to become stewards of our shared nature spaces. Through creating interactive materials and connecting with people who are new to volunteering, we’re helping to bring under-used urban wild spaces back to life.
